In a perfect world, I would reveal to readers who I am and proudly call myself an American because I can state my opinion without repercussions to me personally and to my business. But
Despite the fact that I only reported and gave my opinion to what was written in the newspaper about the Mifflin County Regional Police. One said that Herkert himself had me write the blogs (I never met Herkert).
Many in this county take for granted our constitutional right to free speech—so much so that they overlook impingement of these rights here in our local community. If you happen to hold a dissenting view or speak out against actions by some local officials, look out. They will try to find a way to get back at you.
It’s an understatement to say that free speech is the foundation of our democracy. But despite our country’s strength and standing throughout the world, free speech is fragile and must be protected at the local level; otherwise our democracy will fall like a house of cards.
Just for future information, comments of a threatening nature will not be tolerated.

Keep writing blogger...you're not the only one who has been threatened through all of this! You would be shocked at some of the people who have backed down because of the idle threats that have been made. The mess with MCRPD in far from over, I hope those of you who have used or are using intimidation tactics, pay for your corruption.

Don't you get angry or disturbed by people that has a lot to say about the things that go on here in Mifflin County but they are short lived. The issue with the Chief is a good example, if you are for or against the firing ,or the way it came about , people just don't care enough about what goes on here and they accept whatever comes their way. The thing about the Freedoms we have is , if you don't use them ,there is people out there ready to take them away , and they are doing a good job of it . Remember when Joe Martin would place his 4x8 signs out on South Main St. with his opinions and now with the Technology we have , people don't even comment when they can . Keep on posting blogger .
